Spanish Cedar french doors
Cedar doors are a less expensive alternative than mahogany doors
Very stable for exterior use!
Spanish cedar is widely harvested for use as timber and is prized for its durability and weathering qualities and has a very similiar grain to mahogany. It is extremely resistant to rot.
For exterior french doors we use a veneer of Spanish Cedar approximately 1/8" applied to a cedar core for the stiles and rails. We have had great success with with this method as it prevents warpage. We adjust the grain of the veneer and core
to work against each other which prevents any bowing or twisting of your french doors.
